This position is for individuals licensed as Professional Engineers, performing work that involves the application of all conventional aspects of engineering work and taking a role of increasing responsibility in the execution of projects.
The Project Engineer has responsibility for preparation and coordination of technical activities on assigned projects. The Project Engineer plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates assigned engineering work, monitors work for compliance to applicable codes and accepted engineering practices and standards, and ensures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between other project participants, including architects, engineers, developers, contractors, and clients. As a licensed professional engineer, has the authority to sign and seal engineering documents for work performed under their supervision and takes full professional responsibility for that work.
A Project Engineer should act as an “Assistant Project Manager”, well-versed in project design, financials, and schedules. They are the point of contact for clients in the event that the Project Manager is unavailable. A Project Engineer must be able to coordinate with staff at all levels, both internal and external to the company. The Rod Person assists the survey crew in making exact measurements and providing data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation, or dimension of land or land features for engineering, land evaluation, construction, and other purposes.
This position is the entry-level for surveying work. The Rod Person learns to use professional concepts, including understanding terminology and becoming familiar with surveying tasks.
